Social media is the gold standard for marketing and audience interaction right now, so you need to take advantage of it in any way you can. The best way to do this is by using every tool that’s on offer. Blog posts, articles, and social media posts are brilliant ways to engage your audience, but they aren’t the only things that you can use. 

Whether you’re a business owner selling a product, or you’re running a business as a social media influencer or blogger, then videos are your friend. As a business owner, you should use videos in conjunction with other options for the greatest effect. 

Here are some reasons why you should focus on videos on social media, and some tips to help.

It doesn’t always come naturally to create videos for social media, but it’s always beneficial to your business and your brand. You may hold back because you aren’t comfortable in front of the camera, or perhaps the technical side of things puts you off.

Most people prefer to consume video content and for good reason. Some don’t like reading huge paragraphs of texts to learn things, but they’ll happily watch a video that explains something for them. It’s easier to digest a video.

As well as videos being easier to watch than an article is to read, people tend to pick up more from videos. There can be an 85% difference between the two. Videos allow you to use visual and audio methods to pass on information, which is far more efficient than words on a page. True, you can add images to an article or blog post to illustrate your point, but a video is even more informative than an image. 

Not only does your video tend to get your message out there and attract more people, but the video stays out there. Video content can stick around for months in social media, generating more and more interactions.

You can make an emotional connection with them, which helps you to develop brand loyalty with your audience. People expect a far higher production value from videos than once before, especially if your videos are promoting a brand or business. It is easier to find decent equipment, however.
